Maybe you also thought that the first Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs didn't really need a sequel because it sort of finishes the whole story in one film.  You remember what happened back in 2009, right?

When Flint Lockwood's (Bill Hader) latest contraption accidentally destroys the town square and rockets up into the clouds, he thinks his inventing career is over. Then something amazing happens as delicious cheeseburgers start raining from the sky. His machine actually works! But when people greedily ask for more and more food, the machine starts to run amok, unleashing spaghetti tornadoes and giant meatballs that threaten the world! Now it's up to Flint, with the help of weather girl Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) and Steve, his talking monkey assistant, to find some way to shut down the machine before the world is covered in super-sized meatballs!  –SonyPictures.com

But that was before they discovered that the machine had survived the explosion and was now creating living food!

The cheeseburger rainstorms may have ceased for now, but Flint Lockwood’s battles with food are far from over. In this fall’s Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs sequel, Flint (Bill Hader) continues to deal with the consequences of his malfunctioning FLDSMDFR device when he discovers that it’s created a new race of food-animal hybrids — or “food-imals,” in the first of many food animal puns.  –Angie Han

Here are a few of the creatures invented for the film:

Watermelophants
Wildbeets
Tacodiles
Flmangoes
Shrimpanzees

If you have fun with new words like I do, you will love these clever combinations and the way they come alive on screen.

There are, however, some scenes that might make you laugh and others that will make you cry. In other reviews I may have called some movies entertaining and others inspirational. This movie, however, I think is both. Some children younger than me might not have gotten all the details and may have just thought it to be a funny film.

Also in most of my other reviews I have stated that children might understand it better than an adult would. This, however, is not the case for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Two. It is one of those movies that might make you want to say "no, don`t do that" or "press the button, press the button." It is truly like you are there, standing next to Flint Lockwood.

As usual, my recommendation goes to all ages including those as old as 30 or 40 years of age. Maybe even grandparents too. I think anyone would give this movie five stars if they saw it.

Here are some easy and fun recipes for Tacodiles, Susheep, Fruit Cockatiels, and Meatbalrus to go along with the movie.
